Wine just loves electrodes. Electrodes love wine, too! So much that they drink some of it and get a little "drunk". A "drunk" electrode is not doing very much good. The Unitrode loves wine, too, but we never managed to get it drunk and we guarantee that you will not manage either.
A conventional electrode would be covered by the constituents of wine in a short time and you'd find the nicest wine not only "sticking" onto the diaphragm but also getting into the electrolyte inside the elctrode.
Not so with the Unitrode: The special ground joint diaphragm allows an optimal electrolyte flow which prevents any contamination of the reference electrode with wine.
With the Metrosensor Unitrode, even on-line measurements don't increase the affinity of the sensor towards wine!
Practical hints
Rinse the electrode thoroughly between the measurements with distilled water.
Don't store the electrode in the sample. Use the electrode holder filled with 6.2323.000 Storage Solution.
