Your advantages
  • The flexible ground joint diaphragm allows you to change the bridge electrolyte very easily.
  • The diaphragm can be fully removed from the electrode body and cleaned separately. This way the aggressive cleaning solutions will not get in contact with the sensitive membrane.
Practical hints
  • This pH electrode has a flexible sleeve diaphragm. Lift the diaphragm slightly after each series of measurement and allow a small amount of bridge electrolyte to flush the liquid junction. It just takes a few seconds and your diaphragm will be grateful!
  • The inner electrolyte solution should be 3 mol/L KCl, however, in the outer compartment a solution adapted to your application can be used. For example if a resin sample precipitates when it sees high salt concentrations or in neutral/acid media use a solution of 0.1 mol/L NH4Cl/NH3 as bridge electrolyte (5.3491 g NH4Cl + 7 ml of a 25 % Ammoniumhydroxide solution in 1L distilled water).
  • The bridge electrolyte should be renewed regularly.
  • Store the electrode in the bridge electrolyte solution when not in use.
  • If the electrode is not used for more than a week replace the bridge electrolyte with 3 mol/L KCl.
  • First rinse the electrode thoroughly before storing with a solvent that will remove all residues from the electrode and then with distilled water. Long live your Long Life Sensor!
  • Make sure that the electrolyte level in the electrode is always just below the filling hole.
