We routinely measure the pH of a solution, an aqueous solution, with no problems. How about a piece of paper, leather, or my skin? Impossible, you say. Not really, use a combined flat membrane electrode. Make the measurement, a realistic measurement, by thoroughly wetting the surface before measurement.

For measuring pH on surfaces like skin, leather or paper, the one and only system includes the Metrohm 827 pH lab and the Metrosensor LL combined flat membrane pH electrode.
