Electroplating Baths & Dyestuffs
pH measurement in electroplating baths or in pigments and dyes is not easy due the difficult sample matrix. It is of great importance that the choice of electrode meets the measurement needs. There are components in an electroplating bath (strong acids, metal ions) which can contaminate the electrolyte solution within the electrode. This is why a pH electrode with bridge electrolyte and a large electrolyte flow should be chosen. When measuring in pigment samples they can easily block the diaphragm of the electrode. Here you need a robust diaphragm such as a ground joint diaphragm, which can cope with such conditions. |
